JPEG is the fastest to compress to, JPEG 2000 is significantly heavier to process.
JPEG is supported by any graphical browser, JPEG 2000 require either a browser with such support (such as Konqueror), a browser with a JPEG 2000 plug-in or an addicional instance of Ziproxy running at the client's side.
